Interfaith Homeless Emergency Lodging Program (I-HELP)
I-HELP provides homeless people with hope and opportunity for a better future by offering shelter, meals and connections to community services. Six nights a week the I-HELP van transports approximately 35 homeless people from a central pickup point to a host site. The host site rotates between different Tempe faith communities. These communities open their doors and offer overnight shelter. Other faith communities bring in dinner and lunch sacks for the next day. Guardian Angels Parishioners team up to provide dinner to the participants of the I-HELP program whenever there is a fifth Friday in the month. Carol Bennett coordinates the meal. Contact Carol for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org.
